If you want a car that talks to you through the steering wheel instead of a touchscreen, you’re in the right place.

This is my Audi S4 Avant in Sprint Blue, the best colour! I bought her in February 2016 with 55,555 miles on the clock, a number I remember precisely, because it felt like a sign and her sound had won my heart before I got her off the forecourt on the swift (obvs) test drive. She’s now on 126,015 miles, all of them earned rather than idled away, and she is, without exaggeration, the best car I have ever driven, let alone owned.

What you’re buying

A high-quality German performance estate built the way cars used to be built. No infotainment system, no lane-assist nagging, no dashboard full of menus. Want satnav? Buy a phone bracket. What you get instead is a barely used radio and CD player, because I would always rather listen to the engine than the radio, which makes her ideal for anyone whose CD collection has been gathering dust since Spotify took over.

Honest condition

For her age she is in outstanding condition. She has never transported messy children or adults in all the years I’ve owned her. There are some age-related marks you’d expect on a car with this mileage, the odd stone chip here and there, and I’d rather show you those now than have you spot them on the drive.

Before going to her new home, she will have an MOT starting 30 September 2026 and will be back at Vertu Lincoln for another service, continuing the 6 years they have looked after her.

Why she’s for sale

We’re going from a two-car family to a one-car family, so this baby has to go, much as I don’t want her to. I’m looking for the right owner: someone who’ll cherish her the way she deserves, and drive her rather than just admire her.
